How it All Started

Who are we? We are people just like you. We noticed a lot of people including ourselves reaching for various brands of energy drinks and finding that they were all pretty much the same. The drinks had the same basic flavors. The same medicinal qualities were there as well. We talked at length about how we should pursue this market. Our conclusion was to ask you what you wanted in an energy drink. We wanted to do this right and make sure that what we create is something that the majority of people would like. We talked to our friends and families to start. They also gave us input on what we should avoid with our drink. This input served as a base for our questions that we then asked of the general public (you).

The first step we took was to generate a name. We easily could have just picked one and hoped for positive name recognition in the future. Instead we decided to allow other people to help in this process. First we came up with a list of names on our own. Then we included family and friends in the process again by having them add their own names to the list. Our list at first contained 232 names. We decided to narrow the initial list down using a group of random people, friends and family. All these people voted on the names list using a 1 to 10 scale. Names that did not have an average score of 5 or better were eliminated. The vote left us with 61 names.

Our task now was to create a top ten list. This required more votes from a new group of people. We had to reach our target group. We took the list to local malls; walked to every store and stopped people walking by. We ended up with 100’s of votes. After tallying the votes we were left with 13 top names. This occurred due to tie votes. My wife and I decided to leave the list as is.

You will see the number 13 become a common thread with this drink. Watch for it.

Now we needed another vote to determine the winner. Due to our interest in extreme sports we chose to go to a local Motocross event near our home. After several hours and with added help from one of our friends we felt that we polled the entire event. With these votes we finally had a name; Loaded.

Now that we had a name, we needed artwork. We were looking for something eye catching and easily recognizable. We also noticed that most cans are designed simply with their logo being the most prominent graphic on the can. We wanted to be different. We took the current label everywhere asking for feedback from anyone who would give it. We all are pleased with their responses. People see the logo as rebellious and different. People have said that the label is eye catching due to the tattoo art used in the background and the dual pistols. We have been told that we have the boldest and most aggressive can on the market by some top names in the industry. Thanks to you Loaded began creating waves before the drink was even finished!

Armed with a great name and catchy graphics, we now needed to design the actual drink. Our feeling is that there are some great looking drinks out there but, they need to taste good too. When it came time to create the drink my wife and I wanted to take everything you requested into consideration. Remember, we had a list of things that you want in a drink and a list of things you don’t. We worked with the chemists to create what we thought you would like.

Once our drink was perfect in our eyes we again asked random people, friends and family what they thought. We were told that it still tasted like an energy drink (medicinal). We then took the recipe back and reformulated it.

Finally we did it (on Friday the 13th). We created a taste that even non energy drinkers enjoyed. Due to the great taste; those who have taste tested it for us have continuously called us for information on when Loaded will be available. With this type of reaction we knew we had what you wanted.

The first Load will be filled on Sunday May 31st 2008 and our first event will be at The Jeep Jamboree at Snow Valley near Big Bear. The Event Starts on Friday the 13th till Sunday the 15th in June. See you there!

The energy drink market is catering to a more health conscious consumer. The diet energy drink market is growing at twice the rate of the standard market. Due to this trend we knew you wanted something a little healthier that could give you the same energy as the original. We feel very confident in introducing our own diet version of our original flavor. Again, thanks to you, we have another great product. Some say it tastes even better than the original. You should try it and let us know.
